 Arc Ridge Ranch has a storied history and is part of the fabric of Van Zandt County, Texas.  Originally established as a part of a 1200 acre ranch owned by a local doctor who had a heart for serving Boy Scouts of America.  He carved out a 300 acre area, now known as Arc Ridge Ranch Resort, to facilitate hosting Boy Scouts.  The doctor established trails throughout the property, built primitive cabins, and an outdoor gathering area known at the time as Boy Scout Pavilion. Eventually the ranch was sold to a Dallas oilman who settled in the area. In addition to revitalizing downtown Ben Wheeler, he made some upgrades to the ranch. Then in 2021, The Tyler family bought the Ranch and renamed it Arc Ridge Ranch Resort. Led by the family patriarch, Chuck, a vision for the ranch was born to turn it into a guest and a working ranch, where people from all over can experience for themselves what makes Arc Ridge Ranch Resort special. Chuck's son, Titus, has been an integral part of laying the groundwork and establishing the initial structure of the ranch. Eventually the Tyler family partnered with the Bachert family to help solidify Chuck's vision for the ranch. Over the last few years extensive work and development has taken place to bring Chuck's vision to reality. Arc Ridge Ranch Resort is a unique property where individuals, families, and groups can come Relax, Recreate, and Renew  in well appointed cabins on a 20 acre private lake in a natural setting all while watching the goings on of a working cattle ranch which includes Texas Longhorns!  In its current state, Arc Ridge Ranch Resort is a total of 300 acres with 100 acres dedicated to cattle ranching.  The remaining 200 acres has hiking trails throughout with 4 available cabins for short term rental, all on or near the 20 acre lake which is teeming with large mouth bass and various sunfish.  There is a large-outdoor family activity area with sand volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole, tetherball, and a swing set and sandbox for our younger guests.   

 Future plans include restoring the old Boy Scout Pavilion area into a glamping and outdoor adventure area.  Guests will be able to enjoy an outdoor camping experience in a secluded area nestled into the trees with large tent sites, bathrooms with showers including hot water, and use of the large covered pavilion that includes an outdoor kitchen.  Additionally, there will be a sunken fire pit for gathering together, enjoying the stars, and sharing stories around the fire.  This special glamping area will feature archery and axe throwing activities along with horseshoes, cornhole, and volleyball.  This area will offer its own set of trails leading to the lake where guests will find an ample shoreline complete with a dock for launching boats, canoes, and kayaks.  Over time a trail system will be developed that will incorporate a team building-challenge course.  This entire Glamping and Outdoor Adventure Area will be focused on attracting various groups and events, like youth groups, family reunions, and corporate retreats.
